My Fall Semester Bucket List

Going into this school year, I felt nothing but excitement! Even though there were still precautionary measures in place to protect the campus community, I couldn’t wait for the school year to start again. I’ve compiled a bucket list of things/events that I must go to before the fall semester ends.

  1. Take more advantage of Tri-Co

I go to Haverford and Bryn Mawr a lot more than the average Swattie. There were some weeks that I was there three times to study, party, or just to eat in their dining hall. This semester, I want to be way more involved by getting to know the Bi-Co students on more than just the surface level. I also aim to go to more events besides the annual fall dance showcase at Haverford. Maybe some guest speakers or acapella performances. Either way, I’m excited to hop on the free shuttle so I can get off campus!

  1. Participate in Screw Your Roommate

This past year, I was unable to participate in Screw Your Roommate (sometimes shorted to “Screw”) as I was away at a Mock Trial Tournament, however I did set my roommate up on a platonic first date. The last time I did Screw was my freshman year during peak COVID, so I doubt that I got the full Screw experience. I don’t have a roommate this year and I still don’t have a clear idea for my costume, BUT, I do know for a fact that I will be sitting in Sharples trying to find my date come October.

  1.  Go to more school sponsored events

I feel like every ten minutes I receive an email from the CIL (short for Center for Innovation and Leadership), Scott Arboretum, and every other department on campus regarding a cool event they’re putting on. Sometimes it’s making a wreath or planting seeds in the garden. I’ve never signed up for any of these events, though, even the one where you get a free gourmet cupcake every Friday (the CIL’s Cake Friday). Going to more of these events will allow me to feel more involved in the community on campus and I get to take home something with me!

Swarthmore has a lot of fun social events that I must take advantage of before I graduate and I’m excited for the new year so I can begin checking things off my bucket list.
